Missing from the index: Roberto Calvi, mentioned on page 305, has no index entry. Edition: Simon and Schuster, 1988.

Inconsistent name: the same person is called "Donald Payne" ("...sister of Donald Payne...") and "Don Payne" ("...colleague of Don Payne..."). One form should be used consistently. Edition: Simon and Schuster, 1988.

Says "Lucy the Elephant, a huge gray metal behemoth built ... as a gimmick to promote real-estate sales in the 1940s.", but Lucy the Elephant is made of wood (with a tin skin) and was built in the 1880s (1881), not in the 1940s. Also "Elelphant" is misspelled; should be "Elephant". Edition: Simon and Schuster, 1988.

Wrong word: says "...as shares began a precipitate five-week slide.", "precipitate" (hasty) should be "precipitous" (steep). Edition: Penguin, 2004.

Continuity error: says "...Reef, Stray, and Ljubica returned to the U.S. pretending to be Italian immigrants.", but it was Yashmeen, not Stray, who was with Reef and Ljubica on this crossing. "Stray" should be "Yashmeen". Edition: Penguin, 2006.

Says "In the unhopeful light of evening arival, from the bruise-colored shadows...", "arival" should be "arrival". Edition: Penguin, 2006.

Says "You see what sort of visitor come by.", "visitor" should be "visitors". Edition: Penguin, 2006.
